T.I. and Wife Tiny Arrested on Drug Charges
Our top 10 wedding music videos list proves that matrimony is a universal, yet touchy, theme. While romance is widely accepted, so is the notion that rockers aren’t meant to settle down. Luckily our list features all sides of the marriage story, with looks at love, cheating, and even a circus wedding. Check out our video list, below.

Of the more than 100 designers showing spring/summer 2011 collections at Fashion Week, there are at least nine worth bookmarking — ’cause if your friends and co-workers aren’t raving about ‘em now, they will be soon. You see, this lot is fierce with a capital F and plenty of emphasis on the saaah. It includes a Halston trainee, a designer who has made dresses out of toilet paper, and creatives who already count Lady Gaga and Kate Moss among their fans. But don’t take our word for it: Click ahead to meet the nine designers yourself, see sketches and samples of their work, and be able to say with confidence that you knew them way back when.

Gretchen Wilson Answers Fan Questions
![]()
Gretchen Wilson is taking the lyrics of her recent single, ‘Work Hard, Play Harder,’ seriously. The Grammy-winning singer has been announced as the headliner for the second annual Jam for America. Held in Daytona Beach, Fla., on October 16, the line-up also includes former ‘American Idol‘ contestant Bucky Covington, country legend John Anderson, and brand-new duo the JaneDear Girls.
Proceeds from Jam for America will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, which assists severely wounded military personnel and their families. It’s a cause other country superstars, including Wynonna, Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry and John Conlee have all proudly supported.
Gretchen will also be performing for another charity later this month, when she joins Hank Williams Jr. and Lee Brice in a special Gulf Coast concert to help raise money for the tourism industry that has been adversely affected by the devastating oil spill. And while it may seem difficult to balance life as a singer with her time-consuming roles as both a mom and record label owner, Gretchen says it’s important she finds time in her life for the things that matter the most.
First it was Italian Vogue who, with their “Water & Oil” editorial featuring an oil splattered Kristin McMenamy, garnered widespread criticism about whether it was a glamorization of the tragedy or a savvy sartorial attack on BP. Most agree with the later approach, but either way it got people talking and the attention back on the recovery efforts in the region. Now on the menswear front, design label Bed Stu have made a strong statement with their latest footwear collection, appropriately titled Gulf Coast Cleanup. Names aside, the battered shoes speak for themselves. And their effort on cleaning up the mess left in the Gulf of Mexico isn’t without validity; 100 percent of the profit from the sales of the Gulf Coast Cleanup collection will go towards the restoration of wildlife in the region. See, fashion does make an impact.
But in reality it always has, or at least attempted to. Take the deep economic recession, for a recent example. Once the powers-that-be like Anna Wintour realized the mass impact that the recession had on the fashion industry, and New York City as a whole, she teamed with Mayor Bloomberg for what is Fashion’s Night Out – a celebration of the retail industry set to get buyers out shopping and spending money again. It was such a success the first go ’round that it’s back again this year.
It really is a complex thing though, getting people to look at an industry so bent on superficiality in a way that speaks of it’s power, impact, and prestige in our society. And we can rest assure that the argument will continue to spur on for decades to come, whether or not fashion really is this significant entity or simply . . . clothes. At this point, all we can really do is buy a pair of shoes from Bed Stu knowing that we’ve done our part in the cleanup of the Gulf Coast. Oh yeah, and that we have a pair of oil stained loafers on the way.
The collection will be available in November 2010.

>> J.Mendel Scores Investment to Fuel Expansion -Until now, J.Mendel has been a independent, family-run business, but Gilles Mendel, the fifth generation designer for the brand, has just lined up an undisclosed, significant investment by Los Angeles equity firm The Gores Group. As part of the deal, Mendel, who describes his new role as “a substantial shareholder,” will remain the CEO and chief designer of the brand, and the investment will allow J.Mendel to continue expansion from its original iteration as a French fur house. In addition to the label’s current offering of fur, evening gowns, and cocktail dresses, Mendel is considering categories like fur accessories, luxury outerwear, knitwear, suits, tops, daytime dresses, knitwear, as well as leather accessories, eyewear, and footwear.
